This project was something a friend of mine had to do for one of her courses, and I thought it would be interesting to learn Houdini and make something similar.
I had lightly touched Houdini before, but only really using Attribute VOPs to visualize certain mathematical formulas and simulate physics.
This was my first time creating a procedural asset from the ground up. Before starting creating this, I spent about 15 hours reading through slides and trying stuff out to learn how to use Houdini, what the best ways to go about things were, and what nodes there are and how they work.
After that, I gave myself 20 hours to create this row of houses and make it as good as it could be within those 20 hours. Considering I was still learning how a lot of the nodes work and how to use them properly, I am quite happy with the result.
